Pre-VP Debate Thread
All this hype about Sarah Palin winning if she can just be presentable and not screw up to badly, and paying attention to how Biden greets her, and all that other stuff–I’m just not buying it. Anytime the pundits talk this stuff up as much as they are everything turns out completely normally in respect to the extreme possibilities they throw out there. Personally, I’ll just be looking to see that they both actually answer the questions asked and give me some information about what to expect from their admistration and policies. Truth be told, I think Joe Biden will do wonderfully, as will Sarah Palin. Honestly, I’m expecting her to just not answer the questions she is asked. I truly hope she does though, I want to know what she has to say.
Feel free to treat this as an open-thread during the debate if you like.

UPDATE: Post debate, I would just like to add that I hate to post directly after a debate because I like to have my feelings and opinions sink in before talking about petty things that I won’t care about in a few days, but I just have to say that in the past week and moreso tonight I seriously cannot stand her voice when she gets all folksy and makes me feel like she’s talking down to me like I’m a child.

“Honestly, I’m expecting her to just not answer the questions she is asked.”
So… you mean… answering How she would be able to bring the parties together to be bipartisan by talking (for the second time, word for word) about how on Nov. 4th voters will either vote for McCain/Palin or vote for Obama/Biden… that’s not answering the question? I thought she really brought something new the to the table with that answer.
I can’t really say how she did in the debate because with the way she just talked about whatever whenever she wanted to… that’s hardly debating. Her straight talk was really… dodgy.
But then again… I don’t know. Maybe I’m just being tough on her because she’s a woman.
Also, listening to her talk reminds me of Bobby’s mother (of tv show Bobby’s World). Dontcha’ know.

Dontcha know, indeed! Classic.
But yeah, you’re right Amy. We’re so sexist to want her to actually answer questions with facts and opinions that actually _relate_ to the questions being asked. How dare we want to know the truth! She’s a woman! Oh wait, now I’m actually sounding sexist.
Anyway, clearly I favor Biden and think that he won, so I guess my opinion doesn’t matter. But all-in-all I felt like she was on the attack and negative most of the time (and just because her voice is friendly does not mean she’s being nice) but that Biden was actually bringing the answers back to the questions and giving us information, not being positive or negative about McCain/Palin (in general) except when it called for it as a response. Whatever. Again, just my opinion, and since I’m clearly “in the tank” for Obama, who cares, right? Right.
I’m so negative!
